Our Story

In 2003 they moved their family to New Zealand with the intention of finding jobs, but the years of self-employment made taking on a small Rangiora café much more suitable. Three years later they were presented with the opportunity to take on the specialty pie bakery with a lunch bar / takeaway known as the famous Rangiora ‘Pie Bin’.

In 2008 they sold the businesses to change focus, and work with a well know Christchurch businessman & his wife to re-open a café / restaurant in North Canterbury and develop the site into a family destination. It was an incredibly unique business where the local children insisted on coming at the weekend to pat & feed the farm animals that they had on site, or to ride the carousel.

For the past 10 years, Michael has been a bakery tutor, training the next generation of bakers and Carol has worked in retail & office administration, but the call of self-employment became too strong to resist, so here they are again.
